This juicy book's subtitle is Putting Your Priorities First at Life's End. Currently I am leading a monthly gathering on this book and am so inspired by the conversation spurred on by the author and her writing that I want to offer it again soon.  Will request that Dr. Mimi Fields (who is attending as special guest for current book group) come to this next series as well to answer end of life questions.

Finish Strong is for you, the healthcare consumer. It covers the tough issues around aging and dying other books shy away from. It also reflects the author's passionate conviction that individuals can be empowered to chart a course for themselves and loved ones that reduces suffering and reflects their personal values and beliefs."

Barbara Coombs Lee, worked in healthcare as a clinician (nurse, nurse practitioner, physician's assistant), policymaker (went to law school and focused on health care policy) and advocate for more than five decades. Her indelible bedside experiences forged a deep respect for individual values and beliefs and eventually led her to a career in law and health policy. For the past 25 years she has advocated for initiatives that allow individuals a full range of options and much greater agency in their healthcare decisions.  She believes in patient driven (a step above patient centered) medical care where one's doctor is truly a partner in one's aging/end of life journey.

Once Hilarie learns of folks' interests she will conduct a survey on the best day and time (most likely the 3rd or 4th week of the months, January - May), each session will be 2 hours.  Be great to find someone's home that is somewhat central that can facilitate 12 participants.
